这两天，有个梗火了。不明真相的你可能在微博、朋友圈以及各种评论区看到“7号要开会吗”，这一奇怪的话语。
原来是...
近日，成都某校学生会外联部同学在群里问“7号要开会吗”，并@了学长，却被管理员跳出来“提醒”，注意自己的干事身份和说话方式。
借着这个话题，我们来梳理一下各种“会议”的表达。大概有：meeting，conference，seminar，congress，...
meeting
meeting是最常见的、最通用的，英文解释为“an event at which people meet to discuss and decide things”，表示“会议；集会”，
我们可以说 hold a meeting / have a meeting 举行会议，开会；
主持会议 chair a meeting，其中的chair作动词，表示“担任〔会议或委员会〕的主席；主持”；
向大会致辞/演讲：address a meeting（= speak to the people at a meeting）。

Seminar is more about a meeting relating to education background including training, where matters of technical knowledge are discussed and exchanged.

seminar表示学术性的“研讨会; 研讨班，专题讨论会”，英文解释“A seminar is a meeting where a group of people discuss a problem or topic.”，如：
a series of half-day seminars to help businessmen get the best value from investing in information technology.
一系列帮助商界人士从投资信息技术中获得最大价值的每次为期半天的专题讨论会。
symposium也是类似的“专题研讨会；讨论会”，英文解释：a formal meeting in which people who know a lot about a particular subject have discussions about it.
Conference is a formal meeting of people having a shared, common interest, where exchange of informations, views etc. take place. It can be one day conference or more than that. This term is quite common in the business, scientific segments.

2）〔几个人的〕商谈，讨论，会谈，英文解释：“a private meeting for a few people to have formal discussions”

该党代表大会后很多都变了。
注：我国政府工作报告的发布都是在每年的两会NPC和CPPCC期间（全国人民代表大会会议和中国人民政治协商会议全国委员会会议）。

说到这个顺便插一句，经常有朋友听说考啥考啥得看政府工作报告，然后也搞不清到底啥是政府工作报告(后台发送具体年份可以获取笔记，如 2018)，就私信问，有么有2019年的政府工作报告?!? 19年都还没到呢。
也有人问十九大报告(后台发送 19 可以获取笔记)还会继续更么?!? 十九大是2017年召开，二十大得2022年才召开呢...
